Cody is a very active and strong willed young man. Like many 12 year olds, Cody loves playing with his toys and video games. He also enjoys the outdoors and listening to music. Cody is easily entertained and does best with one on one attention and step by step guidance from those who are working with him. Cody also does very well with keeping his room and play space clean.
Cody is a very sweet boy who has experienced a lot of trauma in his short life. Like every child Cody is deserving of a loving and supportive family. Cody will need a family that is experienced and invested in advocating for his needs. It would be beneficial for an adoptive family to be familiar with their school system, IEPs, and the services provided through the school. In addition, knowledge of therapeutic and psychiatric services would be beneficial. They need to be committed to Cody who will likely need parental support well into adulthood. An ideal family for Cody will be patient and have a creative and effective parenting style. Cody’s family will need to be skilled in re-direction and committed to accessing and following through with support services. Cody has come along way and is continuing to improve his behaviors. This often affectionate young man is looking for a place to call home, forever.
