Lilly’s foster mom fondly tells us that Lilly is a joy, smiles often, enjoys music, and loves to sing! Although Lilly has some special needs, she is a happy and fun child. Lilly is learning to do some things on her own: she’s successfully made it through potty training, she can brush her teeth, and she rides the school bus to her preschool! Some of the activities she enjoys include looking through picture books, watching kids’ TV programs, and playing and sleeping in her toddler bed. Now that she can, she also has fun walking all on her own!

Lilly continues to make great progress in her sessions with various medical and therapeutic professionals who make up her treatment team. Sound is important to Lilly, as she is mostly blind. Through observation, though, it is thought that she is possibly able to see shadows. Lilly’s worker will be happy to discuss her medical needs, history, treatment plan, and therapies with home studied families.

Lilly’s social worker wants to hear from dedicated, loving single parents and couples who have the time and attention to devote to Lilly. Having a nursing background, or related medical knowledge, or willingness to learn could be ideal. The family chosen to adopt Lilly will have parent(s) who are calm, patient, and nurturing, and who have the ability to coordinate medical and therapeutic services, schedule appointments as needed, and see that Lilly gets to them. There could be other children in the home, especially significantly older kids, as long as caring for them does not interfere with meeting Lilly’s daily needs. Having a good support system of family and friends would be a huge plus in helping Lilly’s adoptive parents meet her needs, and their own. If your family would like to grow and learn with Lilly, and help her to continue to make progress, we want to hear from you!
