Lisa is a wonderful teenager who is full of life and has a wonderful sense of humor! She can be shy at first, but she opens up once she gets to know you. She is very friendly and caring. She is particularly good with young children. Lisa also enjoys participating in social events with her peers. She recently attended two summer camps and seemed to really enjoy them!
Lisa enjoys making crafts, baking and watching movies. Her favorite thing to bake is brownies! Her favorite movie is the new release of Cinderella, and her other favorite is Frozen. Lisa needs some encouragement to try new activities, but once she tries them, she usually really enjoys it! She has previously participated in activities such as adaptive cheerleading. Another love of Lisa’s is music. Two of her favorite artists are Linkin Park and Carrie Underwood. Lisa enjoys live concerts and has been able to see Carrie Underwood in concert twice! Lisa also enjoys listening to the radio.
Lisa has been doing really well in school where she has been earning mostly A’s and B’s. For the 2016-17 year, Lisa is in 10th grade and is excited to be attending a new school. She has chosen Physical Education as an elective. In the past, Lisa also has had fun being involved in Drama as an elective, as well as participating in a seasonal cheerleading group at school. While Lisa is generally healthy, she needs some extra help with her verbal skills. Her new school will soon be determining what they can do to assist her with any communication needs.
Lisa remains close to her younger sister who lives out of state. The girls have been able to remain in contact by phone and on occasion Lisa has been able to visit her in person. It will be important for Lisa’s forever family to embrace her connection with her sister in whatever ways possible, i.e. phone/Skype/traveling for visitation.
Lisa would love to be a part of a two-parent home with other children and pet cats or kittens. She would like to be a part of a family that enjoys playing games and doing arts and crafts. Lisa tends to be happy staying at home and watching TV or movies, but she needs a family that will help her try new things and stay active. Lisa’s social worker is especially looking forward to talking with families who would be able to provide Lisa with a consistent daily routine, clear rules, expectations and limits as well as lots of nurturing, encouragement and praise. Lisa has some important connections with some relatives in Washington, so it would be wonderful to find a local family. If you feel you are the family Lisa is waiting for, please contact us soon!
