Logan is a loving, kindhearted boy who loves being involved in family activities. Logan absolutely adores animals of all kinds. He’s especially fond of dogs, cats, and chickens. He loves having his own dog – they are great buddies!  Logan enjoys having the responsibility of caring for a pet, and he is hoping to have a dog in his adoptive family! Among Logan’s favorite activities are playing with Legos and toy cars, riding his bike, and fishing. Logan loves Star Wars movies, and he is a big fan of the
Seahawks. His interest in electronics and technology is motivating him to read, which is helping him improve his reading and comprehension skills.

Logan is making good progress participating in counseling. He is learning behavioral tools and strategies to help him process his feelings in positive ways. He could also benefit greatly from having a therapy pet. It has become apparent how much animals can contribute to Logan’s sense of well-being; he is clearly soothed in their presence and better able to express his feelings and emotions.

In 5th grade for the 2016-17 school year, Logan’s program is meeting his academic and behavioral needs nicely. Logan benefits greatly when he has caregiver(s) who are strong educational and counseling advocates with the time and desire to be actively involved in these important areas of his life.

Logan responds best to home and school environments that provide a lot of routine and structure, and kind, gentle interactions from the significant adults in his life. While a bit younger than his chronological age in his emotional development, he continues to grow and develop with these supports. A stable, predictable daily routine in a low-key environment with a caring adult nearby to help him with calm, patient redirection when needed are keys to helping Logan do well.

Logan has a strong bond with his sister. It will be important for his adoptive family to be supportive of helping him to stay connected with her and other siblings in the future. Because of these important family ties in Washington, strong preference will be given to local families.

Logan has shared with his worker that he really wants a family with a mom and dad and brothers and sisters, and, of course, a dog! His social worker is interested in talking with both nurturing couples and single parents. Logan will benefit from having a family that will allow him the time to trust and form attachments, while providing the encouragement, support and praise he needs to continue to grow in healthy ways. If you are a family that would love to share your love of pets with Logan, while helping him to realize his best potential, we would like to hear from you.
