Josiah is a sweet boy who has an affectionate nature. Very much a stay-at-home kind of kid, you could say he is something of an indoor aficionado. Josiah loves to play games on the computer and gaming systems, and he can let his imagination go creating and building with Legos. Josiah can often be found with a book – he loves to read! Puzzles and board games are fun activities for him, and of course, watching TV and kid-friendly movies are high on his list. While outdoor and physical activities are not his favorite thing right now, it would be great for him to find a physical activity that he enjoys. Having an adoptive family that could help him explore and discover his active side could be wonderful for Josiah.

Currently in 7th grade, Josiah says that he likes school. He is benefiting from having some extra supports that help him to be his best. He especially enjoys learning about archaeology! Having an adoptive family that would encourage his academic interests and help him build upon his strengths in school would be a great boost for Josiah.

Praise and encouragement, and one-on-one attention from the significant adults in his life make all the difference for Josiah. He benefits from having a caring adult nearby to mentor and support him as he continues to make progress in how he relates to others. Josiah does best with prompts and support as he learns more about the give and take of friendships and relationships, and, for now, he’s at his best spending time with just one friend at a time.

Josiah wants to be adopted! A nurturing, patient and supportive family who will welcome the opportunity to spend lots of time and devoted one-on-one attention with Josiah could be great fit. A family where he would be the only child, or possibly one older brother, would be ideal. An adoptive family who can provide plenty of structure and routine, with clear directions and gentle reminders will help Josiah be at his best. He has responded very well to parenting by a single mom, but his worker wants to hear from all families who would like to learn more about Josiah. If you would like the chance to mentor and parent this loving and affectionate young man, we want to hear from you soon!
