Autumn is a very bright girl who loves art; she loves to paint, draw and color. Participating in art therapy continues to be a very positive experience. She is a great communicator and will say what is on her mind and what’s bothering her; she is a great advocate for herself. Autumn is very responsive and appreciative of having a very stable, consistent, nurturing placement where rules, expectations, and limits are very clear, and consequences have been discussed with her ahead of time. She does very well with reward systems.

Autumn, who has a very high IQ, is in the 9th grade where her favorite learning environments are her math and automotive technician classes.

Autumn often tends to follow the example of the kids (and at times adults) around her, whether that’s a positive example or not. To have her adoptive family’s support in helping build her self-confidence so that she remains true to herself would make an incredible difference in Autumn’s life.

Currently, Autumn has important supports in her church, as well as a mentor with whom she maintains contact. Being willing to make sure that Autumn has various supports and personal growth resources available to her, especially art therapy, will be especially helpful and appropriate for her.

Although Autumn does well in urban settings, she is very attuned to rural environments and would love to live on a farm or ranch. She would love for her adoptive family to share her great love for animals and family pets, too!
