Grace is bright, creative and highly imaginative, and she has a great sense of humor too. She loves animals of all kinds and enjoys expressive play, such as playing with her dollhouse and Littlest Pet Shop toys and acting out stories with her animal dolls. Grace would love to live where she could be around animals, possibly a farm, or near an animal shelter where she could volunteer; she’s gentle with animals and truly cares for them. Her social worker believes Grace could benefit greatly from being around animals, such as dogs and horses, in a theraputic environment.
Grace enjoys reading and the Harry Potter books are one of her favorite series. She also enjoys games on her Nintendo DS, playing outside, drawing and other creative arts activities, such as origami and making paper dolls.
For the 2016-17 year, Grace will be in 9th grade. Grace, who is very intelligent, is doing well overall academically. She also has a good vocabulary and can be quite the conversationalist! The family that would be a good fit for Grace will have experienced parents (couples or a single parent) who have a good understanding of how a child’s early environment can impact her sense of well-being, safety and her social and emotional development. Grace’s adoptive family should also have the skills to coach and guide Grace in creative ways, and be willing to engage appropriate resources and supports as needed. Having a good repertoire of behavioral tools and strategies could be very helpful in meeting Grace’s needs. If you are a family who shares Grace’s love of animals and can help her realize her dream of working or volunteering with animals in some capacity, you may just be the family that Grace has been longing to join.
