14 year

Grace is bright, creative and highly imaginative, and she has a great sense of humor too. She loves animals of all kinds and enjoys learning all about them. Grace is kind, gentle, and still a child at heart in many ways. For instance, she loves to have stuffed animals in her room; it’s one way she displays her love for real animals. Grace would love to live on a farm, or near an animal shelter where she could volunteer; she’s gentle with all creatures and truly cares for them. Her social worker believes Grace could benefit greatly from being around animals, such as dogs and horses, in a theraputic environment.
Grace has a deep passion and love for reading. She chooses reading for pleasure first, over any other activity. She enjoys reading fantasy books the most, especially the Harry Potter series and others with similar themes. She also enjoys games on her Nintendo DS, playing outside, drawing and other creative arts activities, such as origami and making paper dolls.
For the 2016-17 year, Grace is attending her first year of high school. Grace is very intelligent, and has been praised for her critical thinking skills, and ability to share her thoughts and ideas. She also has a good vocabulary and can be quite the conversationalist!
The family that would be a good fit for Grace will have experienced parents (couples or a single parent) who have a good understanding of how a child’s early environment can impact her sense of well-being, safety and her social and emotional development. Grace’s adoptive family should also have the skills to coach and guide Grace in creative ways, and be willing to engage appropriate resources and supports as needed. Having a good repertoire of behavioral tools and strategies could be very helpful in meeting Grace’s needs. If you are a family who shares Grace’s love of animals and can help her realize her dream of working or volunteering with them in some capacity, you may just be the family for Grace!
