Raven is an open and bubbly young girl who describes herself as, “smart, brave, magnificent, kind, caring, loving, funny, tough, and able to stand up for people who do not know how to stand up for themselves.” Raven loves watching and playing sports and hopes to be part of a family that shares her enthusiasm!
Currently in 6th grade, Raven benefits from having academic supports. School has also become a positive place for her because she’s built a rapport with her teachers, and feels like they really understand her. She has gained a love for reading and often uses reading to soothe and calm herself when she is upset or cannot sleep.
Raven is quite insightful and demonstrates a desire to be successful in all aspects of her life. She is making a great effort to increase her self-awareness and overall well-being. Although trusting relationships can be difficult for Raven, she has the ability to connect and express herself with people who have shown her the right kind of supportive care.
This funny, loving, social justice-minded pre-teen wants a family that will love and understand her. Raven will need a parent(s) who is loving and patient, and who is able to provide a consistent schedule, reasonable expectations with caring and thoughtful interactions. She has so much potential and many strengths that her adoptive family can encourage and build upon. A family that shares her love of sports, either watching, or playing, will be great fit for Raven.
