Lexi is a delightful young teen with so many important strengths for her adoptive family to enjoy and encourage. Like a true athlete, Lexi puts a lot of time and energy into training for the sports she loves. She especially shines on the basketball court, on the track field, and in the pool. She also is an active member in the woodwind family of her school band as she has played the saxophone for many years now. Lexi has been able to build friendships with her teammates and bandmates. Her social worker has shared that she is a very social girl who not only values her friendships, but should be commended for her ability to advocate for herself as well.

Now in 9th grade for the 2016-2017 school year, Lexi continues to do well scholastically and works very hard to maintain good grades. Allowing her to earn rewards (such as playing team sports) for her overall school performance is a meaningful way to encourage and motivate Lexi. Lexi forms positive connections with others at school through her participation in a peer support group. The students involved are there to listen and help one another with problem solving and building interactive social skills.

Lexi’s social worker is interested in hearing from older two-parent or single-mom families. Lexi could be an only child or would do well with siblings around her age. With Lexi’s strong focus on school, she really deserves to have parent(s) who will give her strong support and encouragement and proudly cheer her successes.
