Sabreon is a thoughtful, courteous boy with a good sense of humor and an
endearing smile. He enjoys having fun and being around other kids, and he
loves spending time with caring adults. Sabreon loves sports! A big Seahawks fan over the years, he especially enjoyed watching Marshawn Lynch play – he considers him a role model and a real life superhero. Batman is another favorite superhero! His favorite activities include anything outdoors, playing games on Xbox, and watching football and basketball games on TV. He’s hoping his adoptive family will share his enthusiasm for some of these interests, and participate with him! Sabreon has creative talents, too, which he expresses through dancing and singing; he even
writes his own songs. Musical encouragement from his adoptive family would be a wonderful gift for Sabreon.
Sabreon has made excellent progress in his current placement, which provides a stable and consistent environment. With the support of caregivers, he has learned some tools and strategies for processing his feelings of stress and frustration in positive ways; for example, his willingness to let caregivers know when he is beginning to feel
overwhelmed and needs some quiet time to calm himself. He is also currently working on being able to identify and label his feelings so that he will be better able to process them. As a result of his hard work, Sabreon’s progress can easily be seen in how he interacts with others in social and recreational settings. Sabreon’s recognition of the importance of counseling as a routine part of his support system has played an important part in his progress. That
recognition along with his continued readiness to continue using such resources is serving him well. He very much looks forward to spending weekends with a therapy dog; this has been very beneficial for Sabreon. He
has a great relationship with this special animal and loves having this quality time to have fun and hang out together. One of their favorite outings is going to the zoo. It will be important for his adoptive family to be supportive of continuing to utilize such resources, especially as Sabreon is settling into his new home. Sabreon is in 4th grade for the 2016-17 school year. He is benefiting from having emotional, social, and academic supports which help him to stay on track with assignments, and to do his best. Sabreon really wants be adopted! Sabreon says that what he wants most is a family that is nice to him. He’s actively engaged in the adoption recruitment process and has shared with his worker that he would do well with a two-parent (mom/mom, dad/dad or mom/dad) or single-parent (a mom, or a dad) family. He would be delighted to have one brother and one sister in his adoptive family, and pets too! If you are a family who wants to open your hearts and home to an active, thoughtful and creative boy, you may just be the right family for Sabreon.
