Nathaniel, 17, does not use words to speak, but does make sounds and uses hand gestures to let people know what he wants. When Nathaniel wants to communicate his desire for an activity he will lead by taking ones hand, by putting a person’s hand on an object that he wants, or by getting the object himself and handing it to people.
Nathaniel has an engaging smile and is a very friendly towards his peers. He is very social when building blocks with his peers and shooting hoops. Nathaniel will often learn by following, watching, and then imitating what he sees.
Nathaniel currently attends school at a residential facility. There, his staff work with him daily on using building blocks, recognizing items, and identifying people by name.
Nathaniel is looking for a “forever family” who is able to meet his significant medical needs.
