A vivid imagination can change the world. James, a young boy looking for an adoptive family, has a very active one. James has the ability to deep dive into his own imagination; to create his own fantasy worlds. One of his favorite things to do is to create something out of seemingly nothing.

He spends time molding paper and cardboard into entire villages, creating people and homes and monuments and trees out of something most of us would mindlessly recycle. James loves to build. When he is not relying on his trusty cardboard world, he loves to play with Legos, happily creating an entire city constructed of colored blocks. Needless to say, James is extremely creative, inquisitive, and insightful. He is truly an individual.

James has many interests in addition to the artistic villages he creates.

Though he loves his imaginary friends, another sign of his creative mind, he is very friendly and affectionate to friends in and outside of school as well. He loves to hug, to exchange “I love you”s, and to bring a bit of brightness to any room. He enjoys spending time with other kids, though he also deeply values his alone time. One of James’s focuses has been on bettering his social communication and becoming more open to group settings with kids his own age. In the meantime, he enjoys chatting with trusted adults in his life and thrives on positive feedback from them.

James also enjoys being active outside – riding bikes, swimming, fishing, and playing in nature. Like many kids his age, he also very much enjoys playing video games.

As he enters the sixth grade, James is most interested in the sciences. He is fascinated with technology systems, and loves to learn everything he can about animals. He is also fascinated with history and can recall names and dates with ease. James’s favorite subject is Science (of course!) and he earns high marks in the subject. James enjoys his classes and expresses positive behavior at school. James is a highly intelligent kid with a very impressive memory.

James would do well with a two parent family, particularly a family with at least one strong father figure. A family that is warm, positive, and committed to being engaged with James would be best. At times, James has an inclination to become preoccupied with whatever is on his mind and would benefit from having parents who can help him gently redirect his attention. He loves pets and is kind and gentle with them, and he would also love siblings in the home – younger, older, brothers, sisters – whoever! If you are interested in adopting James, or know someone who is, please send them our way. We would love to find this amazing kid the right adoptive family.
