INTRODUCING MICHAEL & MARY JO...NEW YORK

Michael (55) is an Engineering Manager and Mary Jo (56) is a Homemaker. Michael and Mary Jo have 30 children, 7 Biological and 23 adopted, (21 children still live at home) Mary always wanted a large family and so did Michael. They have had 7 healthy babies and they don’t feel that it is fair to the other people who want healthy babies to wait in line for healthy children. They only adopt hard to place children because they truly enjoy uncovering the child/ren potential. Michael and Mary are particularly interested in adopting children that have been in the system for a while, focusing in on sibling groups and children with physical challenges. They have a wonderful, fun, happy family where everyone is validated as an individual and is encouraged to be as much as he/she can be. Michael and Mary Jo have a strong marriage, good support from their church and community. The Jackson’s like to do things as a family – go places, watch movies, play together. They also eat dinner together every single night and also go to church as a family. Michael and Mary make time for each child individually. They have a good handle on what interventions work for each particular child and how to be “fair” with each.

Michael and Mary Jo would like to adopt any number of either male or female children of any race between the ages of 0 to 12. They feel capable of accepting the following conditions: ADD, ADHD, adjustment disorder, anxiety disorder, asthma, attachment disorder, autism, bipolar, blind, cerebral palsy mild to moderate, deaf, depression, developmental delays, diabetes, down syndrome, drug exposed, eating disorders, mild to moderate emotional, enuresis, epilepsy, failure to thrive, fetal alcohol syndrome, heart murmur, hydrocephalic, hyperactivity, learning disability, mild to moderate mental retardation, microcepalic, missing limbs, mood disorder, muscular dystrophy, non-ambulatory, non-verbal, obsessive compulsive disorder, physically abused, PTSD, reactive attachment disorder (RAD), scoliosis, seizures, self abusive, shaken baby syndrome, sickle cell, spina bifida, tourette syndrome and trach,.
